Not pushing buttons — learning to steer AI
AI has already become an important tool for how children will learn, create and express themselves.
But what really matters isn't whether your child can press a few AI buttons — it's whether they can ask good questions, add their own ideas, judge how trustworthy an answer is, and turn AI's help into real work.
This course doesn't just teach AI tools — it trains children to think, create, fact-check and express themselves with AI.
Your child will learn:
- How to ask clear questions
- How to create with AI's help
- How to judge whether an AI answer can be trusted
- How to hold on to their own ideas
- How to use AI safely and responsibly
- How to turn ideas into work they can show
AI doesn't think for your child — it helps make their ideas clearer, more creative and more powerful.
Five abilities every young creator will build
Understanding AI
Understand that AI is a learning assistant, not an all-knowing answer machine. Children learn that AI can help them learn and create — but it can also get things wrong, misunderstand questions or produce inaccurate content.
Prompting skills
Learn to write clear prompts using role, task, audience, format, constraints and examples — so AI gives more focused, more useful answers.
Creating with AI
Use AI to create images, stories, presentations, short-video concepts and other creative content — turning abstract ideas into real work.
Creative expression
Shape their own ideas into finished work, and learn to clearly explain its theme, process and what they learned to others.
Completing a project
Complete their first AI creation, build a personal body of AI work, and grow in confidence and presentation skills.
Inside the five live lessons
The course follows one thread — "from understanding to creating, from creating to presenting" — so students build their AI skills step by step. Every lesson has clear tasks and visible results.

15 days that turn skills into habits
The 15 days of online tasks aren't extra homework. Short tasks of about 30 minutes a day help your child keep practising prompting, creating, revising and presenting with AI.
AI prompting tasks
- Write one high-quality prompt a day
- Practise role, task, format and constraints
- Learn to ask follow-up questions and revise AI answers
- Compare different versions of an answer
- Build the habit of asking clear questions
AI creation tasks
- Practise image prompts
- Create an AI character
- Design a story theme
- Develop a short-video concept
- Try different styles and versions
Portfolio tasks
- Choose their best work
- Add their own ideas and reflections
- Write an introduction to their work
- Prepare a short presentation
- Complete a personal AI creation
About 30 minutes a day — not extra homework, but short tasks that build an everyday AI habit.
What kids walk away with
Every student starts from their own idea and works step by step towards their own AI creation. It could be an image, a story, a short-video concept, a character design or a complete portfolio.

Will my child just become AI-dependent?
No.
This course isn't about copying AI's answers. We train children to come up with their own ideas first, then use AI to help organise, create, revise and present them.
Children learn AI's limits and understand that it can be wrong — and they learn to check facts, compare viewpoints and protect their privacy.
AI doesn't replace your child's thinking. Instead, your child learns to make good use of AI — so their own ideas become clearer, more creative and more expressive.
We discourage copy-and-paste answers
Students must add their own ideas, experiences and judgement.
A fact-checking mindset
Students learn that AI answers aren't always right and need to be compared and checked.
Privacy and safety first
The course reminds students never to share personal details, their school, phone number, address or private photos publicly.
A portfolio as the outcome
Students must show their creative process — not just what AI generated.
Six reasons it pays off
Better questioning skills
Your child learns to turn fuzzy ideas into clear questions, training logical thinking and the ability to break down tasks.
Stronger creative expression
From images and stories to short-video concepts, your child learns to express ideas in different ways.
Real AI literacy
Your child understands what AI can and can't do and how to use it properly — not just how to operate the tools.
A fact-checking habit
Your child knows AI can make mistakes, and learns to ask for sources, compare viewpoints and keep a healthy scepticism.
Stronger online-safety awareness
Your child learns about privacy, digital footprints and a positive digital identity.
Work they can show
Every student completes their own AI creation, so parents can see what their child has learned.
More than a tools class — connected to STREAM
Using AI as the medium, the course connects scientific inquiry, technology tools, reading and research, engineering thinking, artistic creation and logical reasoning into one complete learning experience.
Science
Understand that AI can "hallucinate", and learn to check information and weigh evidence.
Technology
Use AI tools for prompting, image generation, image editing and creative tasks.
Reading & Research
Learn to gather information, organise viewpoints, summarise content and flag what still needs checking.
Engineering
Learn to break down tasks, refine processes, compare versions and improve step by step.
Arts
Create images, design characters, write stories and storyboard short videos.
Mathematics / Logic
Practise setting constraints, analysing cause and effect, asking structured questions and applying evaluation criteria.

No. It takes about 30 minutes a day, in short tasks. The aim is to build a habit of steady practice — not to add the pressure of traditional homework.
Your child will complete their first AI creation and put together a simple showcase of their work. This can include AI images, stories, short-video concepts, character designs or a personal AI creative portfolio.
Yes. One of the course's key design goals is that every student has learning outcomes they can show, so parents can see clearly what their child has learned.
The course covers privacy, digital footprints and online safety, teaching students to use AI and the internet safely and responsibly.
